working on the jeep

Bryan spent last weekend working on his jeep. No, nothing is wrong with it, we just own a jeep...therefore it begs to be worked on! Or at least that is what I am learning. Cohen spent most of the morning out there with Bryan wanting to be a part of the work. It was honestly SO cute. I came out a handful of times to see if Cohen was in the way and every time I came out he was sitting right next to his daddy trying to mimic whatever he was doing. I finally pulled out my camera to get some pictures. Glad I captured this little moment!

(look at those dirty socks!!!)

halloween crafts

It's Fall break this week, so naturally we have to fill the day with some fun crafts and school time! We started the day with a bike ride to a park and then came home to make some skeletons! The kids were very excited to do this! And so was I :) I love halloween.

Mitchell's is stinking adorable, I am loving his new found creativity. He really is starting to think through what he is doing. I find papers written with letter "h" on them. Or little men with long legs. I love this stage.

Kayla is VERY particular, not going to lie, I love it! I love seeing her try to make things look just right. She is a sweet little girl.

Mitchell funnies

Mitchell always has something funny to say. Always. He has a comeback for everything usually. And lately he likes to just laugh away at himself too. Tonight's funny was quite funny though...

He tooted and laughed. Which annoys the heck out of me and Bryan is always proud of. Bryan turned to him and said, Mitchell who taught you to do that? Is it mommy? He looked back at Bryan and said, no Jesus did!!!

Guess the kid had a little too much church on the brain for one day!

pumpkin picking

It is that time of year again. MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!!! Fall. We went out to pick our pumpkins on Monday and to enjoy the nice fall weather. I swear this time of year is just so nostalgic for me. Happy fall!!

We chased chickens...

Searched far and wide for our FAVORITE pumpkin...

Enjoyed the petting zoo area...

And may have even climbed a fence when mom was busy behind the lens. When did he get this big?!

kayla's ears

funny title...not sure what I should have titled this one! Either way, Kayla officially has her ears pierced! We surprised her the day after she started kindergarten. We were out getting some school supplies and stopped and the jewelry store and asked her if she wanted to get her ears pierced. I was kind of hoping in the actual real moment she would be scared and not want anything to do with it. Boy was I wrong! She was SO excited!! She has been asking since she could talk if she could get her ears pierced. Such a girly girl. We figured she would be ready for it by kindergarten. She got to pick which earrings wanted and she naturally picked Hello Kitty! She still loves them EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. She looks in the mirror, asks me about what colors I like in her ears the most, and is already picking what pair she wants for her birthday, or what she will wear when she gets baptized. So funny.

memorial day 2013 & grandma lyon

I don't have many pictures. But these pictures in particular are special to me. I have grown quite fond of my sweet grandma over the past few years. I have had more time with her than I can ever remember just getting to know her. Know who she is, what her life was about, and how silly her little personality is. We find ourselves visiting her often, and loving every minute of it. On Sunday evenings as we are wrapping up dinner our kids always ask, "mom, can we go visit Great Grandma Lyon?" They look forward to it as much as I do. She laughs and giggles at all their funny things they do and say. We almost always can get Mitchell to perform in some sort of way, song, dance, whatever. And of course the visits wouldn't be complete without some sort of treat! My grandma was a baker...hmmm...guess it's genetic! So she always appreciates some sort of homemade goodie.

We visited my grandpa's grave this memorial in Heber. She is so sweet and tender while we are there. And usually sobs the entire time. She comes prepared though and makes sure to bring a whole box of tissues! Half the time she is laughing and crying. I just love her! We naturally end the trip with a trip to the Dairy Keen. And my grandma ALWAYS gets a huge chocolate shake to enjoy.

I took these pictures at Christmas time of my Gandma. I love this shot of her. For a while there after she had her stroke she would keep her hand in front of her mouth because she was so self conscious of her speech. But her face is so endearing here. She was at a really hard stage then. Not happy like she used to be, it was very recent after my grandpa had passed. Now she is back to her bubbly self, keeping everyone on their toes!
