Lyon Halloween Party

I was terrible about taking pictures here. I will do better next year!!

This was our next party. We had a blast here as well. The kids got to eat scary tacos, and drink magic potions. Decorate pumpkins, have balloon races, and even shoot a bow and arrow at pumpkins. (Mitchell by the way...dang good shot that boy). This year I painted faces too, the kids loved this!

My dad also pulls out his lawn mower equipped with the wagon (which was purchased for this reason!) And drives the kids around the field so they can pick their pumpkin. I love this, the kids love this, the dog loves this, let's just say we could spend all night doing this activity!

Ahlberg Halloween Party

We definitely did not have a dull moment this year for halloween. We partied hard that's for sure! There are going to be quite a few halloween posts...so hold on to your britches...or something like that.

We had our annual Ahlberg Halloween party first. And oh boy was it fun!

We went dressed as the wizard of oz this year. We all read the book as a family so it was fun to dress up like this as well!

There were witches cauldrons...

Plenty of food...and cousins!

And don't forget the little ones!

And of course a horse...

And games galore!

Oh wait...is that cohen in the background making sure Bryan had his shoes on...YEP! That kid is very obsessed with shoes. If only I could describe the obsession, I doubt anyone would believe me!

We even had a puppet show. That is kayla's princess and mitchell's super hero vampire.

And even songs were sung. I love Mitchell's face in this. Priceless!

Sunday love

Today was our wards primary program. And it was  a very good one at that!! The kids did so good and I can honestly say it was one of the most  spiritual programs I have been to. Kayla did her part perfectly too! I was so proud of her. She practiced hard and was ready for her moment.

As we left church today the both walked hand in hand with daddy...doesn't get much cuter than that. Three boys all dressed in their Sunday best. Love them.
(This was last week, but for some reason it didn't want to post until today.)

brett...the family doctor

Brett is officially applying for med school. He has taken his mcat and is on his way to finding out which school will be his new home for the next few (or long) years of his life. Brett, I have to admit, we are pretty proud of you.

Side story: I was running behind getting home to take some pictures of Brett for his applications. Bryan was trying to put Cohen to bed, and Mitchell was left to be entertained by Brett. I walked in the house and saw Mitchell all snuggled up on Brett's lap listening to a book. It was sweet, I wanted a picture of the moment SO bad, but didn't want to ruin it either. Ahlberg's sure do know how to love.

work

I have had some cool opportunities lately with work. I really feel like I have been able to push myself again and learn new things. I have been spending a lot of personal time just trying to be a better photographer, and learn new programs to edit even better as well. Photography is and always will be something I love. Not necessarily something I want to pursue further as a career, but something that I have found pushes me, makes me want to get better and better. I had a client approach me and ask if I could shoot some interior photos of their warehouses. I was super nervous, but figured this was my chance to try something new and to push myself. Not sure why I was nervous though, I kind of think shooting a rowdy 3 year old is MUCH harder than shooting a warehouse that sits nice and still for me and allows me to do all the tricks I want without one complaint! Needless to say I enjoyed this a lot. In fact they LOVED the shots I took and are having me go back and shoot a bunch of other locations as well. I am in the middle of a complete overhaul and rebrand for them, so this client is keeping me on my toes, but they are allowing me so much creative freedom that I find myself so drawn into it right now. Reminds me why I chose to do this career in the first place.

Sojo 5k

I recently ran the stake 5k and did better than I thought I could, so I figured I would just keep pushing myself to see what I was capable of.

I was lucky enough to run this race with my sisters (in law). And I am so glad we all ran together! Its fun to all be working towards a common goal, pushing each other to boundaries we weren't even sure we could go to.

This race was thus far my personal best. And I am so happy it went so well! It's fun to run a race and actually have a chance at winning. I didn't quite win, but I did take 2nd place in my age division. It's my time that makes me happy though, 24:44 min. I was even a little surprised when I heard my final time. I didn't think I had it in me! I guess that's what is so great about a race. You discover you are capable of more than you thought.

Thanks for running with me girls!!

working on the jeep

Bryan spent last weekend working on his jeep. No, nothing is wrong with it, we just own a jeep...therefore it begs to be worked on! Or at least that is what I am learning. Cohen spent most of the morning out there with Bryan wanting to be a part of the work. It was honestly SO cute. I came out a handful of times to see if Cohen was in the way and every time I came out he was sitting right next to his daddy trying to mimic whatever he was doing. I finally pulled out my camera to get some pictures. Glad I captured this little moment!

(look at those dirty socks!!!)
